Here we are. Temperatures are falling down. Fall is finally there…
What would be an ideal wardrobe for this new season?
Well first of all, before buying anything don’t forget to check what you already have in your closet! It’s time to organize it and decide what to keep, what to sell or give and what need to be throw out in the garbage!
So now, what do you really need?
Here is what would be a perfect effortless chic “French Style” capsule for Fall.
Whatever your budget is, you’ll find something!
Number One : a scarf… You know how French women are involved into scarves. It’s such an indispensable accessory when the weather is changing. Cold and wind as a sudden…you have it in your bag, et voila! And last but not least, it easily refreshes any of your “last year” jacket or pull-over!
Number Two : a belt. Not such an insignificant accessory as it might seem… Its style and its color can change any of your classic pants or jean.
Number 3 : a handbag. Is it because remembering when we were back at school that we were so happy to have a new school bag? A new handbag signs the new season, that’s all!
Number 4 : one or two pairs of shoes. As we wear them quite frequently, shoes are becoming distorted faster than clothes. Specially our Fall/Winter shoes stressed by rain, low temperatures, mud or snow condition.
Let’s go for booties,
a pair of derbies,
or a pair of heels, selected to be easy to walk with
Then, let’s have a look on clothes…
1/ Trench : In Paris, who says Fall, says trench… It have to be in cotton and in neutral color (beige, light white, camel, navy blue, black). My favorite one is the Burberry one, but I also made a good selection among quality but less expensive models
2/Ultra light down compact jacket. A very useful piece of wardrobe in fall and winter. Take it in black or navy blue. Thin and light yet still warm, this compact jacket is so easy to wear under a trench or a jacket. A chic way to layer. But it has to be really thin. My favorites are coming from Uniqlo
3/ Dark blue jean. It has to be dark blue and not too skinny. And a high waist will always look better if you have feminine hips and a little tummy. And don’t sew a hem. If it’s too long you will roll up your jeans!
4/A jacket, typically a blazer. If you don’t have one already it has to come in navy blue or in black. A little too classic, may be? Believe me you won’t regret it when you’ve experienced how convenient these colors are!
5/A dress of course! Printed or not, black, blue, red, burgundy or grey… it’s up to you! Whatever the one you chose, it will match with any of the items above!
