Bonjour! I’m Cécile, a French working mum in my fifties, living near Paris with a passion for fashion design and clothes. And must of all for the psychology of fashion! What is behind the way we dress? How can we understand and catch our very own style? How clothes can help us to express who we really are? How can they make us happy in feeling strong and confident?
Because I’m sure you know it already, this isn’t just about looking stylish.
93% of interpersonal communication is non-verbal.
That means when people meet someone, their judgment or assessment is based on non-verbal data like physical appearance, dress, and body language
Previously, I worked in an advertising agency and no need to say that being stylish and fashionable was considered as a way to reflect the agency creativity: an understated requirement! As I always liked clothes and fashion, it was not constraining for me… But I discovered it wasn’t the case for all my work colleagues and some of them were really unsure of what they should ou could wear… they didn’t know what suited them and often asked me some advice…

I realized at this time, I could share my skills and experience to give them the confidence or style edge they needed. And I really liked it! Observing, listening, trying to understand what was wrong… And finally helping in making a change!
I’m talking about a time when there was no internet (shocking! I know…).
Then, the blogging area arose and I could read so many fashion blogs staging “pretty women living a perfect life, traveling everywhere and wearing nice clothes lent by famous brands”… Not to mention, of course, the perfect “La Parisienne” who surpasses them all!
I was wondering where the “real” women had vanished?
I knew through my experience that more than inspiring beautiful pictures, women needed useful advice. Something they can use in their everyday life and that can help them to change and become who they want!
That’s why I started EtVoila! with tips and advice-oriented posts. And the response has been nothing short of amazing!
Thanks to the net, women of all ages, shapes, and stages of life, from all over are asking me about how to get dressed at their best, deal with specific issues and enhance their best features…
Body shape, size, and age aren’t (and shouldn’t ever be) an issue to looking and feeling good about yourself!
Must of all, I’m really convinced that knowing how to get dressed in the right clothes have a positive psychological effect. It has the power to give happiness and confidence!
