Did you ever notice how some colors that seemed to be forgotten forever reappear everywhere as if by magic! A year ago, I would not have bet a single euro on the color of the moment, I’m talking about… GREEN! To be more specific I don’t mean khaki (this one has been seen over and over these last years) but dark green, emerald green or forest green. A very interesting color indeed that allows a lot of nice matches if you pair it with flair.
(all pictures are coming from Pinterest)
Let’s see first what colors to avoid not to add 10 years to your actual age…
This is not really a fashion « faux pas ». It’s just that it doesn’t really enhance the green color. As you can notice in the picture the combination with camel (the suitcase’s color) is way more modern and interesting.
Here is a successful example:
2/ Pale or bright yellow
A very touchy combination that brings us back to the sixties… I’ll prefer to stay away from it
But, and it’s all the subtle poesy of colors, dark green and mustard yellow is really nice!
Kind of tricky and challenging (easier if the green color is really dark)
Or if it’s a burned orange
3/ Red: too classic! or only for a light touch, a small detail
Dark green + burgundy is another alternative but I personally think it’s kind of flat and boring…
Let’s see now some winning combinations!
1/ Dark green and white
Unlike beige, white color will enlight the whole thing!
2/ Black + dark Green
Surprisingly, dark green and black are matching very well
As I’m not a real pink lover, I prefer it in light touch (click on the picture to buy the bag)
But in any cases, it does work with pink
I know, it’s sound challenging but as you can see, it’s not as dangerous as it seems. I think it’s fresher than a green+burgundy combination.
5/ Shades of green
Different shades of green as lime, olive green or turquoise (wich is between green and blue actually ;)..)
6/ All kind of blue
I saved my favorite combination for last.
They all work, from pale blue, denim, peacock or navy!
PS: I forgot grey on my list. Grey is also a perfect choice with green. But as a neutral, grey matches with any colors? Right?
So tell me: Do you already wear dark green or are you about to try it soon? What would be your favorite combination?
